BOTOX®

What is Botox® and what does it do?

Botox® is a FDA approved prescriptive medicine of purified protein, that if used cosmetically, will reduce the activity of the targeted muscles that cause frown lines, crows feet, horizontal lines in the forehead, and the “11’s” in between your brows. By temporarily stopping the muscles from contracting, the lines and wrinkles on the face are smoothed, for a more youthful, relaxed appearance.

Results typically appear within days and should be fully noticeable after two weeks. Any “touch ups” will be performed after this time period. Effects will diminish over time, lasting three - four months. Book your appointment today and be on your way to smoother skin while maintaining a natural appearance.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How does Botox® work?

When Botox® is injected into nerve junction of the muscle, it blocks the release of the chemical that signals contraction resulting in muscle relaxation.

Will my face still have expression?

Your treatment is intended to enhance the way you look, not change it. Botox® only relaxes the muscle beneath the point of the injection, so the other areas of your facial expression remain functional. Because the sensory nerves are only effected, you will have normal feeling in the treated area.

Are there any medical contraindications that I should be aware of when considering Botox®?

Clients with known conditions that effect the nerves and muscles such as ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Myasthenia gravis, and Lambert Eaton Syndrome should not consider treatment?
